A floating bed frame may sound like there is some magic involved. Unfortunately, the only magic involved in making a bed frame of this kind is clever construction. The bed is not as much floating as it is supported by a leg(s) that is hidden from plain sight when viewed from standing position. So, no; the bed is not nailed to the wall, either, as that would be a highly dangerous trick to pull. When you question just why anyone would want a bed like this, you need to see it firsthand before realizing the bed is indeed gorgeous to gaze upon.
A floating bed frame can be fitted with LED lights underneath it. While you are allowed to toy around with the idea of using other colors, white is the safest pick as it is neutral. When used along with a bed frame made of wood, white LED lights can make for a really subtle illusion of depth; which is to say that your bedroom will gain a character in the process. Fitting the frame with lights underneath also creates a sense as if the bed is truly floating on its own. This will be a great take on optical illusion that will improve how your bedroom feels and looks.
A floating bed frame, however, does not always involve the use of cleverly positioned legs that secretly support it. If you wish to have a floating bed but cannot afford the steps needed to design one, you can simply make one that uses a base that recesses further away from the edge. Paint this base black; the color will merge with the shadow cast by the upper section of the bed. As a result, you have semi-floating bed that works just as fine. However, when you resort to this trick, be sure about not casting light on the area underneath the bed otherwise your effort will be for nothing.
